About me
Bio Section
Education has the power to open doors, and that conviction has carried me across four countries and into ten years of teaching, curriculum design, and AI training.
I earned my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut’s NEAG School of Education, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in secondary education. My early teaching experience took me to London, where I served as a graduate intern at Hampstead School working with Years 7 to 10, work that shaped my master’s thesis and gave me my first taste of international education.
From there, I taught 7th grade science at Suffield Middle School in Connecticut through the pandemic, founding a virtual science club called Frizzle’s Fiends and guiding students to a top three state finish at the Connecticut Invention Convention. I then moved to Cali, Colombia, where I taught 6th grade science and 7th grade Wellness at Colegio Bolivar and founded the Zen Garden Club. Most recently, I taught Year 7 to 9 Science at Santo Antonio International School in Estoril, Portugal, working within Cambridge and NGSS curriculum frameworks.
Today, I run Teach & Travel International from Portugal. My work spans three areas. I evaluate large language and voice AI models for two different AI companies, one focused on educational content and one focused on voice and prosody, bringing pedagogical and linguistic expertise to human-in-the-loop AI training. I design curriculum systems for schools, education cooperatives, and edtech companies. And I tutor students one-on-one and in small groups in science, math, English Language Arts, creative writing, and English as a foreign language.
Where I've taught
Connecticut, USA · Cali, Colombia · Estoril, Portugal
Ten years of teaching across three countries has shaped how I think about learning. Each classroom brought different students, different curricula, and different questions, and each one deepened the way I approach the work.
Teaching philosophy
Rigor with care · Learners over lessons · Pedagogy over tools
My approach rests on three convictions: that learners thrive when instruction meets them where they are, that rigor and care belong in the same work, and that the best tools should serve the learner. Every lesson I design starts with the student in front of me, and every decision about content, pacing, or method flows from there.
